Three newly refurbished spectacular bedrooms

The Hall boasts a collection of three self-contained bedrooms across three floors, each showcasing the narrative of the distinguished, illustrious, eccentric figures who once resided within. Allow yourself to be enveloped in timeless luxury and absorb the fascinating stories this 17th-century mansion whispers throughout its hallowed halls and reflected in the presentation of our lovingly refurbished spectacular bedrooms.

Our lovingly refurbished and beautifully curated rooms are self-contained and include a welcome breakfast basket and a mini refrigerator filled with beverages for your enjoyment. Tea and coffee facilities are also available, including an array of teas, coffee and fresh milk. While no catering facilities exist at The Hall, we are a two-minute walk from the centre of Bradford on Avon with excellent independent cafes and restaurants.

Eric

Found on the ground floor of the property, the Eric room was once the working office of Alex Moulton’s staff and has now been transformed into a unique, calm, and comfortable place to stay for a perfect night’s sleep.

The namesake of the Eric room, Charles ‘Eric’ Moulton was the second son of John and Alice Blanche Moulton. Eric, as he was commonly known amongst close family members and friends was a serving second lieutenant and member of the 6th Wiltshire Regiment. Following the declaration of war in 1914 between the Allied Powers and the Central Powers, Eric would be deployed to Northern France.

On the evening of 16th September 1915, the twenty-six-year-old was shot and fatally wounded. Inspired by the bravery and heroism of the patriotic young soldier, the Eric room uses colours from the Wiltshire Regiment uniform and has been uplifted with refurbished tables and chairs. Adding a new king-size bed with a deeply tufted mattress, the Eric room features an ensuite green tiled shower room, converted from what once was a majestic fireplace that now includes a spacious rainfall shower.

Kingston

Situated on the second floor of the property, the Kingston room features framed illustrations of the namesake of this captivating space, the Duchess of Kingston, notorious for being the first woman to be tried and convicted of bigamy in Great Britain In 1776, and who was a previous resident of The Hall.

A brightly coloured floral heritage wallpaper wraps around the chamber providing guests with a gorgeously cosy feel. Especially lovely is the sitting area with a restored sofa and chair, rescued and lovingly reupholstered. Also featured in the room is a restored carriage trunk from the late 19th century, recently discovered in the servant's quarters of the house.

You are invited to enjoy our charming iron-framed super king-size bed, featuring softly curving lines and delicate mouldings offering the deepest and most comfortable mattress for the best night’s sleep. The Kingston room is additionally furnished with a hardwood mahogany-stained two-door wardrobe alongside a warm elm vintage writing desk.

Moulton

Located on the third floor in the heart of the house and once occupied as Alex Moulton’s’ main bedroom, this stunning chamber presents guests with a truly memorable experience as Dr Moulton’s huge Mahogany 7ft wide four-poster bed welcomes awe-struck visitors. Lovingly restored and reupholstered, Dr Moulton's bed features a beautiful headboard and canopy, featuring a deep hand-tufted luxurious mattress with soft pillows for the perfect night’s sleep.

Located on the Moulton landing is a private, white-tiled bathroom featuring a quality modern back-to-wall design close toilet and checkerboard tiles with a premium quality rainfall shower. A dedicated entrance to the Moulton room is decorated with portraits, certificates, and diplomas of the late Dr Alex Moulton and is a love letter to Moulton aficionados.

To stay in the Moulton room presents a unique opportunity, enveloping yourself in what was once Dr Moulton’s private bedroom.
